In our ongoing effort to improve the experience for both fishing guides and customers, we’re excited to announce a major upgrade to how map pins work in our marketplace. Guides can now specify different types of pins on the map: Specific Coordinates and Productive Areas.
Here’s why this update is a game-changer and what it means for you.
How It Worked Before
We originally introduced maps to give guides the ability to mark fishing spots by dropping pins on a map. Over time, we found that guides would use these pins to mark really specific spots, as well as general areas. While this practice allowed for flexibility, it also risked creating confusion for customers. Were they purchasing a precise fishing spot or a broader, more general area to explore? Without a clear distinction, customers weren’t always sure what they were buying.
What’s New: Specific Coordinates and Productive Areas
With this new update, guides can now choose from two distinct types of map pins:
- Specific Coordinates: This type of pin specifies exact fishing locations. These are perfect for highly detailed tips that guide your clients directly to the action.
- Productive Areas: For broader recommendations, these pins highlight general zones where fish are likely to be found, giving anglers the freedom to explore within a proven area.
By making this distinction, we aim to provide clarity for customers before they make a purchase. They’ll know exactly what type of information they’re buying, helping them make more informed decisions and improving their satisfaction with the tips they purchase.
