Are you an angler with a wealth of fishing knowledge to share? Ready to earn some income from your expertise on FishTips? Look no further! In this comprehensive guide, we'll unveil the secrets to creating tips that attract attention while providing genuine value to your fellow anglers. Let's dig into how to craft tip titles that tease, descriptions that entice, techniques that impress, conditions that captivate, and maps that guide – all while avoiding many common pitfalls.
1. Make the title catchy
The key to a successful tip lies in its title. Make it intriguing, captivating, and full of promise. Think of it as your first impression – the hook that reels in potential buyers. Avoid revealing specific lures, baits, or patterns. Instead, focus on the overall technique that sets your tip apart.
2. Add a clear, transparent description without giving away specific details
Your tip description should be explicit about what readers will gain from your tip, without revealing specific details. Tantalize them with a preview that leaves them eager to see more. Share the core concepts and benefits of your technique, as well as what information may be included such as the number of waypoints without going any further. You want buyers to better understand the information behind the paywall without giving it away.
3. Account for as many conditions as possible
You don’t need an answer for every condition, but the more information you can provide the better. Obviously, you want to include ideal conditions but be sure to mention what works in less than ideal conditions, or even what you would TRY in less than ideal conditions.
4. Technique is THE most important part
Your technique is the heart of your tip. This is where you really want your expertise to shine. Describe the overarching approach you're sharing – whether it's about reading fish behavior, optimizing bait presentation, or mastering casting techniques. It is more than ok to add an abundant amount of information here, but you want to be sure the information is legible and easy to read/reference when buyers try to apply the information in the tip. Use bullets, numbers, and various font stylings for extra legibility.
5. Add locations when appropriate
Be sure to include waypoints when appropriate, and reference them in your technique. If you fish included spots differently make sure you mention that in the technique so that buyers understand what to do with each spot. Sometimes it’s helpful to include primary spots and mention that secondary points are also fruitful.
6. What to avoid
Be careful with what you include in the title and description. Avoid the temptation to reveal specific lures, baits, or locations. Remember, you don’t want to devalue your tip by giving away your hard earned information for free!
Don’t sell yourself short or undervalue your information in your market. You know when you’ve spent the time on the water, and have earned the right to sell quality information. Price accordingly!
Mastering tip creation on FishTips requires a delicate balance of intrigue and value. Craft tip titles that tease, descriptions that tempt, and techniques that impress. Cover a range of conditions when necessary, and utilize the map feature to guide your audience. Embrace this guide, and let your tips become a beacon of success on FishTips!
