Looking to catch big smallmouth on the St. Lawrence river without having to fish Lake Ontario ? This tip is for you ! Although the river boasts some of the biggest smallmouth in the country, it can be very tricky to figure out when you first start fishing it. In this tip, I have spots listed in all depths, current and slack water, different covers, and spots where forward facing sonar helps and where you do not even need it. All of these spots range from Cape Vincent, NY to Alexandria Bay, NY. I even have a bonus spot listed for largemouth. I even have lodging options and restaurants to try as well ! I don't know about you, but I look forward to food as much as the fish.
