Last summer (June-July of 2023), we spent 2 months at Monty's Bay Campground, which rests along the western shores of Lake Champlain. During this timeframe, I spent almost every day on the water and one day I stumbled onto the largest school of walleye I'd ever seen! For over a week, my father-in-law and I had the time of our life catching as many walleye as we wanted. We even had one day where we boated over 100 walleye, all on artificial baits, and the average sized walleye was 4 to 6 pounds. We also caught dozens in the 7-to-9-pound range and two of them were just over 10 pounds! When I returned this year (June of 2024), I decided to see if the school(s) were still there and they are!! So if you want to avoid paying a guide to take you to a few fish and want to save some money, then you can buy this tip and have confidence that you'll be on the motherload of walleye!!
